At RareSiteBookmark, your privacy is our primary priority. Unlike mainstream bookmark managers or extension dashboards, we do not monitor your click patterns, profile your visited categories, or monetize your search history. The application runs locally on your cPanel server, storing bookmark directories inside your private MySQL environment.

2. Information Collection

Since the application is self-hosted, all information is collected directly on your personal database instance:

• User Account Details: Username, email addresses, and encrypted password hashes are saved locally to authenticate your account.
• Bookmarks and Folders: The list of URLs, titles, folder structures, and sort orders you create.
• Widget configurations: Custom notepad text, checklists, RSS link lists, and layout parameters.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

We use session cookies and browser LocalStorage to store system parameters, specifically:

• Session ID cookies to confirm your logged-in session state.
• Theme state preferences (dark/light theme selection) stored in LocalStorage.

4. Third-Party Integrations

By default, the dashboard includes dynamic weather updates and RSS feed modules that run client-side in the browser. These connect to public APIs to read local data. No personal identifiers or account details are shared during these checks.

5. Data Security

Because you control the hosting stack, ensuring system safety is a shared responsibility. We recommend configuring SSL/HTTPS on your cPanel host and using strong password settings for your MySQL database connector.
